This year's Illick's Mill Project class at Liberty High School will continue to learn the skills that all previous IMP classes have learned:




-- Participating in, and recognizing, the importance of stream bank restoration projects


-- Making and using final plaster, as well as joint compound at the Mill for windows and unfinished walls.

-- Understanding how to create a business plan, and brainstorming ideas for the future

-- Understanding and learning how to write objectives.

-- Writing properly formatted business letters;

-- Learning how to conduct water testing, including the use of the Macroinvertibrate index

-- Knowledge of twenty common birds that are found near Illick’s Mill


-- Creating and delivering informational speeches

-- Working more quickly and efficiently

-- Updating financial records





-- Upgrading technology skills of the students;

-- Designing promotional pieces for events

-- Updating and designing new web pages, as well as transferring pictures onto the website

-- Working hard on our up and coming events

-- Increasing leadership skills within the teams

-- Sharpening editing skills to become more efficient

-- Use of correct pronouns, when pronouns used as direct or indirect objects.- ex. Give the book to Jocelyn and me.

-- Proper use of adverbs in our writing

-- Avoiding the use of double negatives.

-- Using the English language correctly: compound and complex sentences in particular;

-- Learning subject-verb agreement;

-- Using ncpub.org technologies to build our mailing list
