With its roots going back to the early portion of the 1970's, the MCWA has functioned as a protector of the Monocacy Creek for more than two decades. From its inception, the MCWA has actively tried to both protect the Monocacy Creek as a unique resource for the Lehigh Valley while at the same time promoting the Creek's use as an educational and recreational site.

Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School
Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School, or BAVTS as it's commonly referred to, offers hands-on experience and application based specialized skills in a variety of career pathway areas. BAVTS students are given the opportunity to receive both exceptional instruction and hands-on experience with the latest technology in their field. BAVTS students will be participating in hands-on restoration of Illick's Mill.
